Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse here👋). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.

How are High Schools doing College Visits this year? Google meet, zoom, something else? Do students Pre register? During the school day or on the students time? I’d love to hear how you are going about it. We are not allowing visitors in the school this year so it’s all virtual. Thanks for your reply’s.

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching. As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Came back to school in August with a cruise ship still sitting on my stage. We walked away from Anything Goes the day after the sitzprobe because of the quarantine. Still taking the wind out of my sails.

We are here now, but not able to stage shows. Logic says, "Do a radio show!" Just not sure I want to subject the kids to the emptiness of that performance style given the Zoom life they've been living. The production of it could be fun though.
