I recently had a conversation with a colleague and shared that our last intern was “nothing special”. Looking back I know this was hateful but I thought it as a peer to peer conversation and we had lots of problems with this intern- she would say inappropriate things in front of families and was always checking her watch. Little did I know that my manager was in the room with us who happens to be her aunt. I’m not for certain she heard me but I also feel like I should address it. Thoughts?

This might be too ambiguous to answer, but I want to get better at taking iniative, but I don't know how. I can be pretty shy in work settings. I do things without being told, but I want to go beyond that like start projects etc. Provide more value.

Hi 👋. I posted here a few weeks ago about being nervous conducting a PIP conversation with my team member.
I did it this week and let me just say it was the weirdest conversation ever. The guy is usually argumentative and tries to disprove every bit of feedback. But this time he just sat there and asked no questions and said nothing.

I got reprimanded by a man for having an uninspired point of view of a conference call. He then gave me his inspired POV...which was exactly the same. When I pointed that out he said, “huh. Maybe.”
