My supervisor checked in with me on it. No need to be rude about it. I have noticed that generally people aren't asking you to cancel PTO but rather trying to confirm plans have not changed (with COVID, many plans are moved quite often).
Wow. You are entitled to that vacation time, you can still take it even if your initial justification for the time changed. You don’t need to explain yourself - yes, you are still taking that vacation time.
Is that even a question? Please take your time off, we all need breaks.

For sure do it before ‘unlimited vacation’...because that’s when things get really tough.
I was told that I can’t take any additional vacation till 12/31 since I signed up for the project. If I knew my earned vacation of 20 days will expired on 12/31, I was plan to take before not in January...
My talent team scheduler told me that I’m not allowed to request additional vacation at this moment. Since I listed little vacation days, I was selected to that project (mid Sept) and new policy announced after that...
