Start networking your goal May be easier achieved by hopping into a startup briefly then becoming an independent consultant. I know a few people who started in consulting then went independent. Network at Cap to get out of SAP. Offer to work on RFPs and any bizdev/practice development for another practice to see if you can finagle your way into another practice.

Probably the easiest option would be like SC1 says, to network your way onto healthcare-related projects. You can also consider moving to a healthcare specific like ZS, Trinity etc. At ZS the majority of our projects involve work with pharma companies and you learn about how to navigate the health care system from their lens. Feel free to DM if you have more questions

Yes it is possible. For example in the past year, I’ve worked with the healthcare systems of the US and Germany. Of course to be upfront, global opportunities are not present in every project. Based on my understanding of other consulting models, it may be harder than they advertise to actually get staffed on projects in several countries.

Some good direction here. I’ll add to it. Get into case interviewing. Learn about problems, business problems that way. You’ll be extremely well positioned. Lots of resources online, firmsconsulting is by far the gold standard when it comes to training. It’s run by former partners.

To those knowledgeable about Solo 401(k)s: is the proposed legislation eliminating the ability to Roth these at all income levels? The language seems to say “employee / employer” with regards to qualified plans but Solo 401(k)s are specially because you are alone and don’t have employee / employer relationships. I just discovered these like 2 weeks ago so I’m not in one yet but was considering setting one up. Roth option is the only way a Solo 401(k) benefits me.

How would you structure this resume? Student startups & non-CS undergrad -> masters in analytics & related part-time work -> 3 yoe DS in tier 2 tech company ops, accidental tech lead -> burnt out/bored, quit, was lazy doing part time CS prereq classes for a year -> breadth oriented masters in CS (finishing in spring) Targeting PM roles cause people work comes easy to me (vs applied science/MLE coding) and ops cost center budgets suck. Doing formal CS just cause wanted to learn, fill in gaps.

Hi Fishes, I have an interview next week for a Client Partnerships Manager role at a large entertainment company. I've never actually done a role like this. The focus would be a client partner for Tech, QSR & Finance clients. Can you all provide any insight or tips into this role whether you've done it or partnered with someone who has. Also, what do you consider the media & marketing process to be? And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input.
