Have you never seen a rom com? You will run into your hs sweetheart who will be in a serious relationship with a jerk. You'll realize you still have feelings for her.....few obstacles...you'll get married at the end.
The best thing I ever did to find my person ( who I already knew actuallly), was to start focusing on me. I started working out, traveling solo, and just challenging myself to love and engage with myself and I think that showed to the outside world. I say that to say live where you feel most comfortable Bc that will help you be the best you and attract great people.
Very good advice.
Based on what you described, I think it makes sense to move back to your hometown (seems that you like it there). You seem to want to stay in the city for the possibility of meeting someone, but you should remember that that's not guaranteed, and there are many other ways to meet good quality people. You can meet people while traveling, visiting friends in other towns, maybe even a new hobby.
My main concerns are I feel like my chances of meeting someone are lower, but on the flip side it’s not like I’m doing much in the larger city because I’m either busy with work or in my hometown. I can also afford a house in my hometown but not in the larger city. Overall just don’t want to have regrets. Any advice?
I think working from your hometown makes sense for now, but I would keep the city job. That city of 250k people whatever it is really isn’t that large. It’s at most a secondary city and our profession really thrives on being near cities. I think the city you describe is the smallest you can be at and have a long-term career with liquid employment options. My fear with the small town is if your prospective employer in that small town vanished is there really anyone else to work for? You’d be back to the city with much more heartache and hassle to go with it then.
Yeah there’s actually a few different large firms in the small town. I honestly don’t know that I want to stay in public anyways. The small city is heavy in manufacturing so there’s quite a few manufactures I could go work at.
