My SM, a married woman in her 50s call me lil bitch and send me emojis all the time
We use them with each other, so why not? 🤡
I use emoji over Skype and email because I tend to be rather brusque and it helps prevent misunderstandings due to the lack of context clues in email/IM/text communication (e.g. when I make a suggestion it is not meant to be overt criticism of the way you do things so I will insert this smiley so that you know I am not being passive aggressive).
Emojis are not professional. No, I'm not 40!
It's one of those things that may be fine in one context/with some people but since some people really hate it, it's better just never to use them at work rather than trying to "navigate" IMO.
^see that’s what. I use it but somewhat feel uncomfortable because I know there might be people with though process like you( no offense). But then if it’s not professional why do we have it there ?
