Everyone wants to work. No one wants to work for a horrible wage. If you can’t hire people you’re not offering enough money.
What you're experiencing is the perception that they can throw anybody they hire at the job and get the results they want. Many of them just throw more bodies at the problem at a lower wage and live with mediocre results x number of bodies. This is why the grownups move to situations where contacts + trust + well defined process + proven results + big transactions exist. Because you cannot throw bodies at that problem. You actually have to hire competence.
Good companies are also flooded with applicants for remote positions. Not unusual to see 100+ candidates per role.
Would you flip burgers for $300,000 per year?
You would?
Sounds like we have a money problem, not a work ethic problem.
Yeah. Maybe stay in a sales job for a few years to prove to hiring managers that you can actually deliver the goods? If you have solid executive contacts, a proven sales process and top producer results, you can demand a $300k job.
@Lead Sales 1: 1) what size is your current company (revenue & employee count)? 2) what's the company's annual growth rate? 3) what's your industry? 4) based on RepVue, what do your competitors' salespeople make? 4) if you were to take a new job in your industry, would your executive contacts take a meeting with you? 5) how many of those executive contacts would you be able to put into a spreadsheet?

This is why I don’t even want to deal with sales roles anymore.
Especially now. They’re cutting the salaries like crazy and increasing the number of BDR/SDR roles available compared to other roles.
And we all know it’s because the roles are already paid the least and the other roles actually make healthy salaries.
