Be honest. Say you're burnt out. Let them know your family needs to come first for a change! If they demonstrate they don't care there are lots of places in industry or other firms that would love to have you!
Join Slalom
OP take a rest. You've taken so many bullets for your firm it's time to do something for you. Try to get something local or switch to industry. I'm sure your RP will understand and if they don't, makes the choice easier :)
I stand by my recommendation.
You're likely quite specialized, OP. The firm has invested a lot in you and will accommodate you!
Thank you all for the support. Much appreciated. With all the things I'm hearing about LOs, it's pretty scary and can't afford to lose job due to fam obligations. I've leveraged network for local but no luck thus pulled onto travel gigs as message to me is "stay utilized no matter what"
Thank you EY1. Colleague of mine joined EY and tried to convince me but I said I need to be off road. He said he loves it there. Keep up the good work
You will be okay OP. Family and health first! You will be okay and your skills are likely worth more than dumbass PwC or its greedy partners can appreciate!
;)
But P1 is right. Need to just bite bullet and take chance or risk more health and family sacrifices
You're doing everything right OP. Just apply around and it will fall into place. You're awesome I'm sure anybody would take you :)
I agree. I joined right out of grad school. First professional job. Had amazing opps US and abroad. Worked with amazing people and then slowly over last 2-3 years the people I grew to be loyal to, started leaving or getting laid off and I started getting pushed around and now it's completely different with all the acquisitions
Agree with PwC1, I have much less experienced than you but I asked to have a more flexible travel schedule, offered to be on at home for longer hours (client is EST, I'm PST) and just told them how much of a toll it was taking on me. They agreed bc I think it was clear I'd leave or have to take a medical leave. They'd rather accommodate than lose that much talent. After all, you are the product they are selling
Thanks OP. EY has amazing culture and is extremely accommodating. If you decide an intra-big 4 move is for you, I'll reiterate your colleague's sentiment!
Your words cannot be more true P1. Thank you
D1-if only I could do that!
It really pains me to see what this company is doing to amazing people. It's horrid. I was a strong advocate for this firm but now I'm a formidable opposer.
Where they go OP? lets join them!
Industry, Huron , EY, small boutiques, hospitals universities ,internal transfers to new LOS
Show them the value you have brought (f they havent seen) and then put your foot down. If not, move to industry. Or sabbatical
