Provided 3, but they were not the principal partner I worked with, who is unhappy to lose team (me and another assoc), since I’m afraid of retaliation (and said partner is also mired in HR issues currently). However, the partner was mentioned during the interview as someone I worked with, so I feel scared now that my lateral firm partners are wondering why I didn’t include. There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

I’m in the 2nd and final round for a position with a well know company. However, they haven’t asked me my salary expectations yet and am unsure if I provided expectations on my job application. How should I handle this IF the final interview goes well?

I do miss seeing my colleagues sometimes but being able to actually use random breaks in the day that you get in transactional, especially as a junior, productively (work out, cook a meal, fold laundry) has made this job so much easier and sustainable for me. It’s still exhausting and so unpredictable and the December crush is killing me but I don’t know how anyone did this for more than a year or two pre-Covid when people spent all day and evening in the office.

If you do billable work on a given PTO/vacation day, do you still count that day as vacation? Or do you get that vacation day "back"? Or do you only get the part that you billed "back"? (Or some other option.)

What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. First year (who should be a second year) is emailing me trying to figure out where are things with a federal notice summary (I allowed them to help). Can I tell the first year to chill? I feel like if the partner needed it ASAP, they would have said so. I turned in the summary less than 72hrs later. Nbd/big deal?
