I was considering starting a blog or making some videos talking about my career in product. I want to share what I've learned over the years from others and want to give back more. Are there specific topics people feel haven't been addressed well by the product community? Open to ideas.

What a great idea! I'd go through this bowl and try to pinpoint the most commonly asked questions.

like

Yes!! Love the idea!

1- Effectively prioritizing road map with conflicting high priority needs from various distinct groups within an org/company and ensuring everyone is aligned.

2- Transitioning prioritized Initiatives and Epics for tactical execution. What content should you have at minimum for a successful transition and effective breakdown into Features, User Stories and tasks.

3- Sizing and capacity analysis for long term planning.

4- Tool recommendations for road mapping/planning.

like

Engaging with stakeholders. How not to be an order taker and have some autonomy.

like

That’s such a great idea!

like

I would love that!! Here’s my topic: ways to prioritise customer requests.

like

Honestly I find most topics have been talked through but what’s valuable is being to illustrate your own spin the same topics with your own experience.

Personally, I find content with personal stories (your or someone else's experience) very engaging. It has a more human touch to it as opposed to a post that expounds the virtues of doing 'x'.
It would be good to address "eliciting meaningful customer feedback" as a topic

What's the best way to find out if your male coworkers are making more than you for the same role? I'm scared to just ask, and have no ability to determine whether or not they tell me the truth. On the other hand, if it's true I want to know so I can start looking elsewhere.

I was hoping to get an offer since the referral came from high up but instead got a rejection due to hiring freeze. Recruiter said team loved me. Was it really hiring freeze or that I didn’t do well in interviews and it’s just an awk way to reject me?

Anything I can do to salvage this situation? I reached back out to the interviewer and my referral

Hi All, I recently found that I was getting paid 10% lower(in base salary but all other things being equal) than another APM on the team. I found that I’m in fact the lowest paid on an all male APM team. Do y’all have suggestions on what I should be doing to build my case for a raise? How do I go about eliminating that this may not be some sort of discrimination but we’re getting paid based on merit? I haven’t received any feedback from my boss on my performance and shoulder equal responsibility

First - thank you so much to this amazing group for all the encouragement and advice! I now potentially have 2 offers (both verbal) at this time. Both amazing companies. I have 2 questions:
1. I have a month's vacation planned for end of this year. I didn't mention it during the interview process (it was not intentional). Should I mention this to the recruiter when they come to me with the initial offer?
2. Some tips for salary negotiations please?

Ladies, I need your help
I have been looking for a job for 3 months now and would like to understand what I do wrong

I have 2 y of experience as PM and 10 y in marketing

So, I had 28 screening interviews with HRs (from companies) that led me to 12 interviews with hiring managers - 42%

And 5 out of these 12 invited me going farther- again 42% and have interviews with teams
Unfortunately, I wasn’t successful by any reasons. I am frustrated (((

What was your hiring funnel?

I’m working on a new feature, and I heard that a colleague disagreed with the direction. I’ve reached out to the colleague directly a couple times, trying to share the designs, and be collaborative. I found out that he contacted my manager and asked to discuss it, I’m insulted and offended. Any advice?

I need some advice please. I made it to the final round of interviews for a Product Owner position. Since I’ve been dealing with rejection for almost two years of getting into Product does anyone have any tips to ace the interview? Also my goal is PM. Do you think a move from PO to PM is obtainable? I’ve done some research and according to Marty Cagan the PO & PM should be one individual. To this end is the PO position seen as redundant? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Just got promoted!!! Give your girl a shout please 🥳🥳🥳
