I was laid off a little over a month ago after being with the company for 17 years. My title was a Peformance Quality Auditor which was my main job but I did far more then was required of me. I created many process improvements and managed the projects from beginning to end. I created a website for our team that is invaluable and is used everyday to access all the tools needed to that job. My performance reviews were stellar year over year and for all my hard work, I was laid off.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
