I was recently fired from one of the top banks in the country. My performance reviews were all favorable. My attendance and punctuality were impeccable. My productivity on the team met all the standards.

My 25 year career was ended, SOLELY, for failing a few of those internal fake phishing emails from cyber security within 24 mos. That’s it. Not real phishing emails or malware. Just the test ones. Has anyone else heard of this? Am I the only one?

Y’all. NO ONE KNOWS HOW MANY PEOPLE, AND WHO, WILL BE LAID OFF. The economy may bounce back next month or next year. It may get much worse or maybe we just sit stagnant before things improve. Firms may lay off a lot or maybe just super low performers. No one knows. Stop reading tea leaves and just work hard and try to save a bit more than usual. There’s nothing else you can do.

Throwing this out there. My company was recently acquired and I was laid off yesterday. I’m currently 6m pregnant so looking for a company that isn’t going to have a problem with my giving birth in 3m (looking for a miracle). 13 YOE in Marketing (Brand, Digital, Product, Ops). You name it, I’ve probably done it. Team management exp but not required in next role. Just looking for 100% remote, flexibility, and company that puts families first and won’t give me a hard time about doctor appts 🙏🏻

One of the primary aims of the criminal justice reform movement is to help ex-convicts re-enter the workforce by sealing criminal records, and making it more difficult for employers to judge applicants based on criminal history. The idea is that people are redeemable and capable of reform. Yet the same movement thoroughly enjoys getting people fired and publicly shaming them for making arguments they find “offensive”. A rapist is capable of reform, but not someone who makes a dumb tweet. Got it.

Coworker got fired because they stole my clients! We have a policy stating that the realtor who initiated the contact should be the one closing the deal to give them a fair chance. I feel bad but they should have read the policy...

One of my senior managers is a boomerang and told me she was laid off when she was 7 months pregnant about 10 years ago. I think she was a senior or manager. She was in a specific group and everybody was laid off. It wasn’t performance based.

Got laid off for the first time in my career 3 weeks ago. I have 10 years of PM experience (mostly ecommerce & experimentation). I was fortunate in the past to have had recruiters scout me directly so this is the first time in over a decade that I am applying to everything that I’m qualified for, mostly qualified for, and way over qualified for with zero leads. I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

Is genetic carrier screening prior to starting an ivf cycle necessary? I tested and found some disorders. Now my RE won’t start my cycle until my partner is tested. They are saying they will have to do special PGT tests if we are carriers of the same disorder. I am confused.
