Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Anybody that has time to spy is actually the “do nothing!” Who cares about her opinion? And she’s talking trash to others? I just say ignore her. People like that will get what’s coming to them. I had a teacher spy on me, hiding behind bookcases in the library. She was a tattletale to the principal on what everyone else was doing. Well play with snakes and you will get bit. Next thing, the principal is after her and doing 2 hour observations in her classroom! Now who is coming crying to me? She ended up getting fired! If you engage with this teacher, it will be exactly what she wants to feel important as if her opinion even matters. Ignore her! It will bug her even WORSE if you don’t give her the time of day! It will drive her bonkers that you don’t give a shit and you are plenty confident in what you do.
If you're lucky to have a supportive administrator, you can involve them. You could ask to share important aspects of the art curriculum (county, state, or national) at a faculty meeting. But there will always be faculty members who don't appreciate art--it's their failing, not yours.
