I've had a hybrid role for the past 4 years where I get unlimited sick days (well 14 really until fmla kicked in), 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days. I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.

Dude that SUCKS. Totally not your fault.
I understand. It’s not like we have nothing to do either. Just take it as a lesson learned, ok? Hugs.
Lame. Especially because you know they blamed it on you. Maybe shoot the CD a message?
Better yet, a note.
If you hadn’t heard back you should have checked 1-2 hours before or whatever amount of time it is you needed to be ready. You can blame the forgetfulness of recruiter or the carelessness of the CD, but ultimately you could have managed this a little better and been more proactive to protect yourself. Sorry .
Did you reach out the next day asking if he was still available?
Yes and ghosted me till today..
That sucks, OP. If you’re still interested in the role, reach out and say “I think there may have been a scheduling error, are we able to confirm a time for next week?”
Unfortunately when you’re the job seeker you have to be ready at any time. In the CD’s mind he DID confirm- at 2:50. That was his confirmation. So to him, you’re the one who bailed.
I completely agree with everyone that OP should be prepared regardless, but this mentality is total trash. I can’t expect people to make meetings within my own agency with 10 minute confirmation. Get real.
2/2 he answered ok let me check. Next day at 2.50 he emailed me. Are you ready? Of course I wasnt he never confirmed! Then he ghosted me... how is this my fault??
Oh man. That blows. No way I could’ve taken that call either...
Invaluable lesson
