I was transferred here for work and have been renting. I'm currently trying to find a home to buy but was waiting for mortgage rates to go down. The variation from neighborhood to neighborhood in home price is crazy! I can’t imagine trying to be a realtor here. Or trying to buy a home before I moved here, because trying to get the lay of the land based on housing prices has been challenging. It seems all over the place.

Random question - My dad took a whole life insurance policy for me when I was 15. Although the policy relates to me, the name of the policyholder is my dad and I would like to change it to me but keep the same beneficiaries. Is it possible to transfer from him to me? (This policy relates to my death btw)

Let's say a person join a company X and then switches to Y after few years. Again switches to company Z after few months. Now the thing is both the previous employers provided Pf but the new company Z which is still growing doesn't have a pf contribution since it is starting out in india. What would happen to existing PF accounts if not withdrawn , will it earn interest? What would i need to do as an employee? Any timelines to follow?

Home reno financing question. Have a big project coming up in the $120-150k range. Funding sources are:
- 90k from a heloc around prime
- 10k from a credit card that offers promo checks at 2-3% for 12-18 months
- 375k in a brokerage
- 5-6k per month cash that I can put towards the project, loans, or brokerage

I don't want to stop funding the brokerage because my FIRE plan is less numbers based than "hoard like dragon until it's enough" but maybe I should... How would you optimize?
