I went freelance 6 months ago, and while it’s been a tough, unpredictable ride so far, I am currently working on one of the most creative projects I’ve ever touched, and am pitching creative I’m really proud of. Rewind 12 months, and I was stuck in a terrible job with golden handcuffs - scared of taking the risk of tossing the “sure thing” away to chase what I loved about this career. Sharing to say that I know It’s hard out there, but trust your instincts. If you aren’t happy, make a move.

I’m a first year that’s inching toward second year. Partners in my group say “sometimes getting thrown into the deep end is the best way to learn.” However, I feel so lost. I feel like saying the above is just an excuse for not wanting to take the time to actually teach new associates.
