I work in house and started 6 months ago. Graduated law school in 2018. base pay is $150K and 15% bonus. Fully remote and unlimited PTO. I got a call from an Amazon recruiter for base salary of $170K, and the rest of the equity/bonus they give. Total comp $285K. Would you guys recommend taking the interview and going to Amazon or stay at the position I am in? Curious if Amazon is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

When is it time at a struggling company to seek a new role? I’ve only been in my role ~ 1yr. It’s great for prof growth bc I’m on a small legal team in a global co and involved in a wide breadth of matters. High QOL and I like the people.

Made it to Amazon last round, and rejected. All I got was an email from the recruiter saying they didn't move forward. The team seemed great, and the turnover didn't seem terrible as everyone I interviewed with was there for 3 years or longer. It seemed like a great group doing good work. I'm crushed.

NYC pay transparency law is now in effect. Have you checked how your salary compares to the salaries for new positions your employer advertises? How do they compare? How are we feeling about this law and the in-house salaries we are seeing?

What is the best way to respond when an interviewer insists that you provide a base number for compensation during the interview process? I mentioned that I was interested in learning more about the full compensation package (benefits, etc.), but the recruiter insisted twice. I started my process in mid-April and made it through onsites plus a meeting with the HM in May. That was about 4 weeks ago and my recruiter has not responded to my emails asking for an update.
Is this a "no news is good news" situation or should I assume a rejection?
