I work in house and started 6 months ago. Graduated law school in 2018. base pay is $150K and 15% bonus. Fully remote and unlimited PTO. I got a call from an Amazon recruiter for base salary of $170K, and the rest of the equity/bonus they give. Total comp $285K. Would you guys recommend taking the interview and going to Amazon or stay at the position I am in? Curious if Amazon is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. When someone has a gap (up to 6 months) between a big law job and their first in house application, do you assume they were laid off? Would you advise a candidate to actively share why they took a break, if it wasn’t a lay off?

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).
