Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Just ask. Say you did some market research and reevaluated your salary position. As long as you haven't signed anything, it's not too late.
Thanks M1
I think they are taking the chance with you without formal studies in that field, exactly to save a couple of dollars per hour, are you sure that when you ask the same salary as a paralegal with those studies you will not have any leverage anymore over other candidates with formal studies to keep that position?
I am qualified to work in the field I am applying for. Not sure I follow your response
Did you already accept a formal offer? If not then it is still up for negotiation. I would just ask for more when they make their first offer.
No I didn’t accept anything yet. Any advice on the wording for this?
