If you could go back in time, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself heading into your first job after college graduation?

I’d tell myself the value of financial literacy. I learned it late in my adulthood and wish I was as locked in about it then as I am now. Parents didn’t teach me a lot so I learned the hard way.

What advice would you give to yourself?

What is the career progression for a digital marketing manager? What about for something that is similar to digital marketing but not quite?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

I’m still a generalist but see people 1-2 years above me beginning to align. I frankly don’t really have any particular sector interest, but choosing based on “who i vibe with” sounds a bit silly (esp if you plan to exit)

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?

The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions.
