I think it depends on how much they want to talk about politics. I'm totally comfortable getting along with people who are aligned differently than I am, but it becomes a problem when that's all they want to talk about and THEY can't handle a different perspective (my mother-in-law lol). But no, in most situations I would not. It's healthy to be around people you disagree with

Politics is an outside issue so ideally it doesn’t come up in the normal conversation that you have with your sponsor. If they constantly bring it up though, and you’ve asked politely to not talk about that topic and they still do, and you find it’s getting in the way of your sobriety, then in that case I might consider switching.
But other than that, we’re all entitled to our own opinions and everyone gets treated with patience tolerance, kindness, and love.

I’m working on a fear inventory this week related to the election.
If my program is working, it shouldn't matter to me. I can accept people places and things on their terms.
It should not matter. But my ego would def let it get in the way
We have no opinion on outside issues.
D2 said it. There no “cooked geese”. All sponsors are human beings too with egos too. My personal experience is that if you connect well and benefit from the relationship (any mentor-mentee relationship and perhaps broader than that), you should take away what helps you and disregard the rest. That’s just how human beings are. We’ll never be 100% aligned with another. The only exception being if something tends to take over the conversation all the time, there’s probably some point of diminishing returns.
Politics the two parties are deadlocked.Just listen and respect his opinion. You are better than the deadlocked parties
Principles before personalities. Don't have to agree. Must be respected.

You can recognize other opinions - but don’t need to respect those opinions, especially if those opinions are against your personal well being.
