Cisco interviewed me for 3 months for a couple of roles and then offered me comp that is considerably less than my current comp for a product manager role!! They also said its cisco policy to not offer rsu for mcol cities. Rsu is apparently only meant for candidates in hcol cities.

McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Even if it's not for you, you can still learn some valuable skills why not stick it out and let it vest. Unless you've got something better already.
I am waiting till the bonus vests😑
Stay two and go...
I recommend just sticking in it for at least the year while you take time to figure out your next move. This first job will open up many doors for you and if you're already planning to leave, you don't have to stress about performing your absolute best for that rating and promotion. Along the way, learn how best to market this first job for you to be in the best next job for you
I agree with A- try to stick it out for 2 years. I hated it too in the beginning but it got better and now actually like it. It also looks great on your resume and you don't want to sell yourself short...
wanted to thank everyone for their responses, it's appreciated
If 5-10k means that much to you, you haven't figured out what you want to do yet. In the grand scheme of things, a few thousand should stop you from moving to your goals/interests
How much would it ruin getting a new job if you have <year on a resume for a position?
Yeah but have you thought of the possibility that op might have a visa to think of or a huge loan or anything ?
It wouldn't look great. ~1 year is legit though.
It would reflect negatively in my opinion .that we couldn't stick it out for more than a year .would show being fickleminded , as someone who cannot handle stress in a high profile job, who is not dynamic which is not true obviously but that could be a perception of recruiters who value big four experience .dofferent scenario for someone who knows how the actual scene
How much was your bonus? How long do you have to stay for it?
I appreciate all of the responses, bonus was 10k vesting at 5k a year. Thoroughly underwhelmed with the current state of the job. Not something I presently enjoy or foresee myself doing long term. Since newly out of college, would it be easier to find a job elsewhere?
Leave, it's unethical to take the bonus if your leaving
Recommend to tough it out for 2 years. That's the usual in-and-out experience with consulting and no one will question timing
Start looking at industry now. Especially at the beginning of your career industry recruiters will not care that much.
Hang on...
I'm clinging a year. I hope it's the right decision.
1 year is all I can stand.
