Larsen & Toubro Infotech Is it good time to join Cognizant now for Coimbatore location considering too much attrition in recent times along with many policy changes and do they have enough projects or will there be any chance of layoffs if we don't find any projects for our skill(Tableau in my case)? Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

9 months and counting. I've tried tweaking my resume to be as ATS friendly as possible. For every job I've applied for, there are 100's if not more applicants. My spreadsheet just keeps growing. I've even applied for non-tech jobs, I can't even get a call for those. I have a generic resume for the non-tech jobs I've applied for. Honestly, this whole process is very frustrating. Even if I lucked out and get an interview, I just get another rejection email shortly after.
Mine is still ongoing since last year of August.
Took me 2 months. Expected 6 months.
Laid off in November 2025, still hunting for a full-time role. Adjusting my resume to fit job descriptions. Applying to open positions and ... Not hearing back from anyone. It's a fun journey when a road just suddenly leads to a cliff with nothing forward but an empty, voided chasm.
Contracts haven't been easy either. Still waiting to hear back from a potential client since May, even after making a solid proposal that would be financially better than what they were going for originally.
I was laid off for 9 months, took 2 1/2 months off, and got a few offers at 6-7 months. It's a numbers game, so please don't get discouraged. I was making 6 figures and took a pay cut of 50% in my new role, but I'm happy. I also pivoted away from tech, so food for thought to anyone else: you have transferable skills. If you stay in tech, be smart; you should pivot to a new org every 2-3 years- the best way to have a high pay increase and avoid layoffs. You all got this; remember your value!!
It took me 8 months to find a job after layoff
10 months, finally a in person interview got it done. One company HR person told me they use an algorithm just select candidates.
Agism is very real. An aarp/npr report said if you get laid off (fired) around the age of fifty, consider it early retirement. There is no way around age discrimination.
After my EDS layoff, all the jobs were contract. Project Managers and proposal writers/RFP responses are expense lines in the view of upper management and you are likely to be unemployed every six months. Contractors rarely get benefits so with all the insurances, certification renewals there is no retirement fund. My hair turned prematurely white from Grave’s Disease. All employers see is “old”. My accountant sister says there is no such thing as age discrimination but she has two houses, sail boat, a few cars, pensions, IRAs, CDs and soon SS. They travel. I wonder how I will get food or pay property taxes.
I even started my own grant writing business with Notre Dame professors mentoring and supporting my efforts. Next thing I know Covid hits. I have resorted to minimum wage retail jobs but even those are seasonal and selling my art at art shows.
I have been looking for a while. Even my references are retired now, how do you hide that so it doesn’t reveal your age?
Good luck. I got laid off December 25' and its a desert out there. Even though I was laid off at no fault of my own the company contested the unemployment office and the DES sent me a BILL for having the audacity to apply for unemployment. I suspect as retaliation for my workers comp pending.
I've been unemployed since January of last year. I rarely get interviews nowadays, so frustrating

1.5 years ! did everything wrote my resume rehearsed interviews. Gained and maintained certifications. I am convinced the only reson why I got my current position was the PG, Get the certifications. ( Don't have to spend a mint, there are many cheap certificate programs) Find out what the company needs and list it on the cover letter.

It all depends on where you live and your skills, I guess. I live in the Sacramento area and when I got laid off at Intel Folsom as an IT Manager in 2018, it took me just over 3 months to land another job. Hope this helps.

Location has less to do with it than the timing. I've got a buddy that was let go from that same Folsom location back in early 2023, which was fortunately for him at the beginning of the waves of layoffs that have continued since then to roll through the entire industry up through earlier this year.
He got back to work in a couple months, and even had a couple options to choose from, yet I and many others have been unemployed for half a year or more, and landing even a single interview happens few and far between. I'm in El Dorado Hills, and I wish that Sacramento was a hot bed of tech activity. I am willing to drive to the bay and even move cross country at this point, yet most applications go unanswered.
My wife (a tech implementation/delivery manager at a large CRM company) was laid off in Sep 2025 and was re-employed 10+ weeks later at a startup.
10 months. A few interviews that never went past the first round. I have sent out so many resumes. Rejections abound. Doing some contract work that is not dependable. I am lucky my wife works. Frustrating to say the least as my life is on hold now. I have 25+ years experience. I do think ageism is definitely a factor.
I started looking for a job while on maternity leave because I predicted my new boss wouldn't keep me. I returned to work for two months and got laid off. I was told it was a financial decision.
I was unemployed for a month before starting my new position for less pay than the last role. Better title but more responsibilities. The former company just hired a new salesperson at twice my salary due to 'growth'. OK babe.
Was laid off 6 months ago. Still looking. I think I’ve sent in 130 resumes, each personalized for ATS. I’ve had a couple recruiter screening but no jobs open right now. I had actual interview rounds with 2 companies, one got to final round but I didn’t get it. I know others who took 7 months but I hear it’s worse since June. I’m manager level and to apply for IC I have to seriously downplay my experience. Also manager roles are particularly hard to find since they are fewer and particularly prone to being cut.
2 months. Networking is key, dont wait till you need it to start doing it.
Seven weeks, nine if you count the two weeks notice they gave us before the end date. I took a pay cut to land the new position.
