PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

Amazon L7 equivalent in PWC?
I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

I was laid off April 30, 2026. I was given a heads up by one person. I had a job and started June 1. Fastest this has ever happened to me. Back in approx 1993 I was laid off and it took two years. Laid off in 1999 again you couldn't stop the phone from ringing. Laid off aggain 2002 diring the dot com bust, it took about 3 1/2 years. A couple more layoffs came and it took about 6 months for all of those. So you never can tell how long, you just have to keep at it. I did give up for a few years during the 2002 one. Looking to retire in a few years, so hopefully everything holds good till then. Not to mention, everytime had to use up all my savings, so had to start all over again, that part really sucks.
About 4 months. I was apart of a layoff that impacted 20% of the company, ~90% a few months later. Found a new gig, more pay with a much more interesting tech stack/org. I am very fortunate considering there was quite a bit of luck involved.
A few tips i’d give would be to always refine your resume, give yourself a quota each day, apply apply apply. Filter jobs by posting day, I wouldn’t apply if the job was up for longer than 24 hours.
Most importantly dont be hard on yourself, times are hard, everyone’s different in their experience. Best of luck you got this!
It took me about 5 to 6 months after being laid off and now taking a lower level job just to be able to get back in the mix of things. Keep your head up. Keep applying for will find your opportunity.

I was laid off last day of Feb this year. Started a new role in May this year paying me over 10k more. When I first got laid off, I mass applied. I was exhausted and disappointed. I changed my strategy and targeted roles I knew I would be good at and had transferable skills. I also reached out to my network and that was a God sent.
Ill go against the grain and say, dont mass apply. Target roles you are clearly qualified for or have transferable skills and reach out to your network. Mass applying will wear you out and disappoint you. Target apply and tailor every resume to the role. You got this!!!
I sent hundreds of personalized resumes every day for 3 months, but the market is awful right now. AI is filtering resumes, so most people get skipped over. employment scams, recruiters ghosting after interviews, 90% of my resumes getting no response at all, all while I watched more and more tech employees getting laid off every week. I finally gave up and started my own gardening business. other people that got laid off by the same company as me have been looking for months, and in some cases almost a year, with no luck. it's ridiculous out there

I got laid off 6 days before Christmas last year, and I am still looking.

It took me 21 months to find a contract to hire job. I am currently making more than my last job but not sure where I’ll end up once I’m hired. Also I found this through someone I previously worked with. The job market is brutal.
I haven't been able to get an interviews, but started volunteer work and there have been some perks, and found myself in good company - well, with the exception of one person. The place was closed by the pastor, but am focusing on other avenues. Lately my mother have had open-heart surgery, had to take her to doctor appointments and C.P.T.s, minor stroke, getting her prescriptionsand other emergencies. If I was employed, I would have lost the job.
Adjusting your resume to each and every job will lead to mistakes, or be seen as lying on your resume. Mistakes will be made, and will make things worse. It may also depend on where you look for employment. Craigslist, Indeed, Monster, and other site might have more scams than legitimate job postings. You might be having an interview set up, only to find out the location doesn't exist, and when you call the person that you've been talking to laughs. Of course I reported it to Indeed, the posting removed, and the company blocked. Ziprecruiter is more geared to finding people to hire, but not to get hired.
Feeding America has food distribution locations that might be close to where you live, so look for it to get some good, fresh vegetables (except any lettuces - not until the virus is under control or eliminated from produce) until you get back on your feet. If you're 50+, go to your city's site for help with finances. GoodRx will help with prescription(s). The County Health Dept. does have vaccines for reasonable prices.
Lost my previous FTE job in early 2024. It took me 10 months to find a contract job and 20% pay cut. Then, found my current FTE job after another 5 months, total compensation went all time highed, but had to relocate to a different state. Being 45+, I’m starting to feel a little bit of agism as a software developer. My goal is to FIRE after 50, don’t like to work in a environment where all my teammmates are in my kids’ age.
I've been experiencing turbulence since the pandemic hit, mainly because I emigrated 6 months earlier to Spain. I'm back now but during that time, none of my contracts were honoured as the companies didn't know what was going on. Back in the UK has cost a fortune to get a place to live again and settle down. I've ended up in North Norfolk, a long way from the London market and undoubtedly why companies aren't responding to applications. Over 30 years in the London FinTech sector and having worked on and managed global projects for many years, I'm losing the will.
I was laid off June of 2025. Many applications, 10 or so interviews, and nothing. I suspect that I am being viewed as too old (mid-60's). I have given up.
I was laid off twice in 1 year. Here is the synopsis.
Electrical Engineer in Aerospace/Defense, early 50s, nearly 20 years of experience, and living in the Phoenix area.
First lay-off: In August 2024 a bunch of engineering lay-offs happened in Phoenix and it saturated the job market (Northrop Grumman & Intel to name two). Blue Origin in Phoenix made a super low-ball offer ($60k to $80k too low), Raytheon in Tucson did the same, and one offer in Albuquerque offered me a fair salary. I had to live in Phoenix, travel to ABQ and live in a hotel while I worked during the week, and then traveled home on the weekends.
2nd lay-off: They laid me off in August of 2025, one year after the last lay-off. I received zero interest or calls about any jobs for over 5 months. Then Raytheon Tucson gave me a low-ball offer again (again, $50k to $60k too low) that I declined because going from a level 5 to a level 3 engineer would be career suicide. Then I was interviewing at 6 different companies between Albuquerque, Phoenix, Tucson, and SoCal. Only one made an offer at all and it is in Tucson, so now I work in Tucson during the week and travel home for weekends. It was 8 months total for the last lay-off. I may never financially recover from that last one.
I got laid off 6/2020 and it took me 5 months to get ONE offer. I got laid off AGAIN in 2/2026 when the industry I worked for took a nose dive and they had a massive RIF. It's almost 8/2026 and still nothing. This job market blows
I was laid off from Accenture in August 2025 and I am still unemployed.
Took me about 6 weeks, but I understand that's not typical. Heavily used Claude AI to make a giant Master resume, then a plan for updating all the various social/job sites. Then I used Claude to scan job boards to find good fits and create custom resume every time a job interested me. I know it can feel demoralizing at times. Best of luck to you!
The whole thing is a game. I think the best is to just decide to have fun with it, otherwise it's going to stink. You might make more on a side hustle anyway. There are good people all over the place and HR will always whine that they can't find good people. That's an important tell.
