Any hot leads on Workers Compensation roles?
USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

So much has changed in my 25 years and if I had to do it again, I would say hell no!
I'm just glad to not have to do manual accord forms or certs LOL
I never saw myself getting into insurance and I can't say it's my greatest passion in life. But it's a stable career and it helps me support my family. So in that sense, I would definitely recommend it.
Solving problems and helping people when bad things happen.
Is it health insurance? Is it dental and vision? Is it life insurance? Is it an annuity? Is it a 529 plan? Everyone needs one of these. It’s about making sure people understand what’s available to them. Be that authentic person to explain these options and help people secure their future.
Great perspective! Very positive and helpful.
Absolutely not. Especially not in claims. All companies are meat grinders.
Property and casualty claims specialists are working overworked and underpaid everywhere. EVERYWHERE! It’s these new people who come in and want to be managers and have no experience as one so they literally suck up until they can get there. Then, they come badgering at you telling you their text book method waya of doing things. It’s sad!
Insurance as a choice was not a bad career move 25 years ago, yet increasing innovation and technology continues to shift jobs away that were once viable. A lot of insurance job options will be less reliant on people in the near future, so I would be more data and project management focused if choosing insurance as an option now.
You don't think sales will still have a role? A lot of data and PM tasks can be automated.
Yes. But I would tell myself to get the H OUT of health insurance after 5/6 years and get my licenses to be an adjuster. There are so many career paths in P&C. Interesting ones. I discovered them too late. I could have made some decent money instead of getting taken advantage of.
It's never too late, but I know what you mean. Shoulda coulda woulda.
I'd say things haven't turned out that badly for me, so I guess I'd recommend it to my younger self. As it happened, I gravitated toward insurance because family members worked in it. It was never explicitly recommended to me, but it just seemed like something to do.
I came into it somewhat accidentally but it's been good for me and my family.
Yes I would. I wish I would have started sooner to be that much more ahead. I’m 10 years in and each year I get to learn more and be that better professional that I know I can be. This is a great long-term career.
Yes and No. Insurance at times can be "golden handcuffs"
I definitely feel this! After about 10-15 years the idea of starting over someplace became less appealing.
I would warn myself. Be cautious. If you apply for a promotion and youare not offered that role, Do what you think is professional. Congratulate the candid who received the role. Ensure management knows you are still a team player. The caution I suggest is to watch how the new candidate temreats others and how you are treated. Do you best to assist and try to confirm to their management style. If the writing is on the wall that you are seen as a "threat" after you have done your best to always be professional, look for another role. This will never go well.
