Microsoft is hiring an account executive and I’m really interested in the role. I have B2B sales experience in a different industry, but my skills include lead generation, prospecting, account management, negotiating, etc (all within the C Suite and other decision makers).
Would appreciate knowing if this is something I have a shot at with no tech sales experience and what I could expect for promotional opportunities and compensation.
Thanks for the help!

There’s actually a path to this. Disclaimer: Speaking from London/UK market. The things is entering PE and entering IB are two different approaches. Entering PE may probably require leaving ACN but leveraging your strat experience (pref M&A or growth exp) for a DD shop (think S&, EYP, OC&C or even CIL). Being a consultant as well, you can enter a T2 consulting shop without a downgrade in seniority. After around two years of DD experience you can aim to get an investment associate role at a low/mid market fund as you have a strong commercial background. For IB, your best bet is to apply for grad roles at mid market banks/boutiques as you’re unlikely to get an associate role at a bank coming from ACN. Tbf it’s less about what you can do on the side and more about making definite career moves. Hope this helps
