I’m a Senior 2 high performer in Tax and am happy with my current job/coworkers. But I know that if I never leave EY, I’ll be underpaid compared to outside hires.
I don’t want to leave EY for another firm, because I don’t want to have to rebuild my reputation and network. The thought has crossed my mind to apply to another Big 4 firm and get an offer from them and bring it to EY to ask for a pay raise (essentially say “match it or I’ll leave”).
Has anyone ever done this? What was the response?

I recently had an interview with BNY for an Analyst role located in DE. The interview went well and I was informed by the recruiter that the team was interested. They asked if I was willing to relocate immediately, and I told him that my decision would be best made if I see an offer. I have not yet received a follow up after this(coming on two weeks) so I know that I've been ghosted. My question is, was I wrong to ask to see the offer before making a decision?
