I’m a tax manager 2 at EY in private client services. I had corporate experience as a staff and senior before I went into private. I want out of public accounting. I don’t want to do busy seasons anymore. I need a salary of $150-200k. I would be open to changing career paths completely. I can’t figure out what I should do. Any ideas?

What city? I thought in HCOL markets tax managers are already making 150+

I’m making about 150k. I meant I don’t want to take a pay cut if I do something else.

Try family office

Best way to find family office jobs?

Start to apply for industry jobs? Family office, real estate, fund, law firm, etc. If you want to get out of tax completely, most likely you'll have to take a pay cut. Even the good industry role paying 150k-200k with good wlb is not that easy to land. So better get into action early.

You could start looking at business manager firms. They handle the day to day life of high net worth individuals including their taxes (some extremely complicated). They’re always looking for qualified tax professionals.

helpful

Think of the firms under Focus Financial such as Gelfand Renner, NKSFB or others like Citrin Cooperman, PSBM, Provident, Tri Star. Most of these handle everything except for the investments

I am the only developer in my team and my manager has assigned me a project in which I need to create a tool from scratch although that is currently running in production build by third party and we don't have access to that code.

I am on notice period and I am 100% sure that project won't be completed before my LWD.

What should I do, I asked him to put some extra team members but he didn't agree, seems like he will add extra team members 2-3 weeks before my LWD.

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?
