I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. But keep getting told by recruiters that I don't have enough experience to be a Consultant or Manager but that I have too much experience to enter in every level such as a Senior Associate. Do you think potential bosses get intimidated when a candidate for a job has about the same amount of experience as them? And won’t hire them for fear that employee might try to take their job once they get in. I know a Sr who has been looking and wondering if this might be a roadblock for her.
