Do all consulting firms give out work phones?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Never be loyal to a B4 firm. They think of you as a number who feels “entitled” to your PTO payout.
Never be loyal to any company. Gone are the days of Bill Watson from IBM. You’re only as valuable as what you do while you’re working for a company and by no means does a company owe you more than what you negotiate when you come in. That’s life! Except it and plan accordingly.
I started career at deloitte and had similar experience. I wasn't able to successfully navigate the firm to find the right team or work that I was passionate about. I think I'm hardworking and smart, but was put on a PIP after a particularly bad experience with a manager. I left for a slightly smaller firm, with a different culture, and more focused on my areas of interest... it was an instant 180. I'm now 8 years in and continuing to climb the latter and passionate about my work.
I also joined a big 4 out of college and left a couple months ago. Best decision I’ve ever made, work in industry/tech is much more interesting than what I was doing before plus people are so much more relaxed. It doesn’t feel like the damn world is ending if there are formatting errors on a slide deck at 5pm lmao - you’ll come out strong and better off in the long run from this :)
Don’t get too disheartened. You’re worth more than the value you they place on you. Keep your head up bud. Best of luck!
You should never be loyal to abstract things in life such as a company. It’s not living or breathing to make you happy nor does it recognize that you want to be loyal. Be only loyal to yourself and your loved ones. I wish you the very best OP in your jib search.
Very sorry to hear you are going through this. I joined PWC last year as an experience hired and got let go in 1 year. My management made sure to keep me on the bench and kill my utilization. Then got let go after round tables.
I felt nobody in the team liked me and I wish I was on another team. I really wanted to stay longer but wasn’t up to me. I never felt welcomed by my team either so I know how you feel. I am joining guidehouse now so I hope that is a better experience
I wanted to be a loyal and proud member of the firm, and I'm heartbroken that at this point all I can say is that the only thing I'll miss is the steady paycheck.
F it. Move onto better things. pwc is nice and all but there’s other nice things. I’ve seen many folks laid off make more and be happier with less work.
Thanks guys. These comments were encouraging. Very kind
I got laid off from PwC as well and ended up at FAANG making more, working less hours and not having to travel. The team culture was also significantly better. So trust me, this is the best thing that has ever happened to you!
Rising Star
I know what you mean. Believe me the majority of folks in B4 are like you. They see the firm as a stepping stone and nothing more. Even partners and principals are now being made redundant. Don’t fret it too much and go on to do something that you truly like.
Apply to other big 4s a few years experience should net you something decent.
I’m so sorry OP. Think of this as a chance to find a better opportunity. Take some time for yourself and then, when you’re ready, get back to the grind and get yourself a new job!!
