OP, don't listen to A1. Deloitte is a great company to work for even they hire you as a C. Chances of Deloitte hiring you as SC is slim unless you performed like a rockstar in your interviews ( I am a part of Deloitte Tech hiring team). So, don't ignore the offer just because of the designation. In long run, you will grow faster and earn more if you perform well. I rest my case now
I shouldn't have said "rest my case" after the paragraph 😒
85 is low for consultant. But I know some ppl who there when they first moved up from analyst. Are u in federal?
I was a 2yr cons being promoted to mgr. Left in Oct right before it was official but the salary bump, even at SCons level was significant enough to make the move. If I would've stayed the bump between cons and Mgr at ACN was still going to be 40k short of what uncle D was offering. I was severely underpaid at ACN and taken advantage of despite receiving sig above numerous times and filling mgr and srmgr roles. ACN didn't even try to counter.
A1, I'll definitely not do it for a small raise. If it's going to be similar to D3's raise, then yes I can see myself going for it. I'm in tech consulting as well, but I'm currently frustrated with the type of projects being thrown at me, starting to feel like an implementation monkey. Also, no I'm not in federal. I'm in resources within Accenture consulting
Wow that's really shitty, what the hell. I took the full 5 weeks of PTO last year in one big chunk for an awesome backpacking trip and then spent another month on the bench after that finding a project. Didn't have to worry about utilization since it was only a month.
Most probably consultant but if you performed well then you will be promoted to SC within a year. Good luck!
I'm already at $85K. And my coworkers at the same level are at $95K, which is why I say I'm underpaid. I was shooting for +20%
I switched from ACN to D at 3.5 yrs. went from 86k to 110k. C to C lateral move, but with the pay bump, I don't mind at all.
Yeah Uncle D pays a lot better. Don't expect a title bump especially at 3.5 years. Just take the money then put in the time to grow your network and prove yourself within the firm, you will be rewarded. Also FYI always negotiate. Can't hurt if you do it tactfully and professionally.
Only asking because at Accenture, you go from A->SA->C. While at Deloitte, you go from A->C->SC.
Depends on the service line and actual experience
Okay that's great to hear, so there's potential to get a title bump if I was doing more managerial level work I assume.
Senior consultant, I know an analyst who went over to advisory as a senior after 7 months
If they don't offer u senior, don't take it. Consultant is equivalent to SC at Deloitte
A1, that's what I thought as well. Especially considering that I'm doing some managerial work as well: managing entire teams, sales/RFPs, etc. I haven't applied yet, but I will once my current project is over because my salary is a joke.
As a heads up, they may initially say it'll be a S.Cons role to get your interest but then make up some bs about how it's actually a cons roll to see if you'll take the lower level. If they pull that say no thank you and be prepared to walk. They pulled it with me but role went from Mgr to SCons. I didn't care much about the title and played hardball on the salary and bonus to make up for it. Looking back, I should've denied the SCons roll and said no when they pulled the bait and switch. Came to D from ACN, btw
Thanks for your insight D1, appreciate it. I would definitely prefer SC, but I can also see myself taking a C offer and running with it. Roughly speaking, would you happen to know a salary range?
D2, were you at the M level at ACN? I care equally about the title and the compensation as I believe both are equally important in the long run. I just hear a lot that D rarely gives title bumps.
with 3.5 year experience, you should shoot for $80-$85k
