I'm confused about my Warner Bros. Discovery application. I completed the CoderPad assessment on June 7, but there was no Workday application then. On June 23, a Software Engineer application appeared in Workday as "In Progress." I don't remember applying, so I'm unsure if I did via LinkedIn or if HR created it. I had my final interview on July 6. Now it says "No Longer Under Consideration." Is this likely the same role or a different requisition?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Hey folks, need some help. I cleared all my interview rounds and had completed the documentation too. However for more than two weeks the status on the portal is "offer initiated". The HR says the delay is happening because the people who need to approve are on leave. Are they playing around or keeping on hold? Do they actually release offer after this much delay? Please share if you know anything about it.

Considering leaving to take a partner position at a small firm. Is it worth it? Would only be 2 partners with a staff of 10. Comp would be 250k on the low end and probably top out around 350k. Would take 3-4 years to get to this level of comp as would be buying 10% per year up to 40% of the firm. Am I stupid for not taking this? Currently manager making 125k. Comp first year as junior partner would be 120k with 10% ownership.

I’ve been negotiating a settlement on behalf of a client. OP is a major corp. we’ve gone back and forth for months, almost a year. Finally came to a final agreement and we’re reviewing for final signature. Then client is reviewing and decides they want something else modified. It’s a point of contention. OP has said no. Should I communicate this to client before pushing back against OP’s rejection of the mod?
