Feeling really nervous, help! I’ve been using topical hydroquinone 4% since before I found out I was pregnant. Now reading the label I realise that it’s not advised and a category C by the FDA - I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have obviously stopped now but really scared I might have caused serious harm to my baby.

I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Really struggling to pick up all of the slack from all of the colleagues that do have kids and feel like the expectation is that parents should turn off while the rest are working from 7am - 2am everyday to make up for it.

To those with an anxious attachment style and have trust issues due to past childhood trauma you’re still healing from: How do you keep yourself from thinking your significant other is going to cheat on you when she/he goes to a party or out while you’re miles away? I’ve been in therapy to help, and trying to distract myself but my anxiety is keeping it from working and don’t want to put that pressure on him because I’m trying to work on it.

How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. First trimester insomnia?
I’m only about 5 weeks, but my sleep schedule has gone off the rail the last three nights. I’m sleepy/drowsy, settled in bed around the same time every night, and yet I cannot fall or stay asleep. I have a white noise machine, comfy bed, cool room.. etc. When I do fall asleep, it’s earlier in the morning and I sleep until 1/1:30pm. This was fine the first few nights since it was the weekend, but it can’t keep up. Anyone else experience this and have any recommendations?

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. 40 weeks pregnant and terrified to be induced. Any tips on how to manage the stress and pain? I’m getting an epidural but still very nervous.

How did you tell your manager you’re pregnant? Did it affect pay/promos? And then, subsequently, how did you start letting colleagues know you’re pregnant? Feels awkward to just randomly drop the news in a meeting! I work remotely so it’s hard to tell by video :) I’m 21 weeks and feel like I’ve waited as long as I can to at least notify my manager. Has anyone had a nurse state the assumed sex at 12 week ultrasound? The nurse is fairly sure it's a boy, and I'm wondering how accurate her guess is based on a close look of the genitals. Confirmation won't happen until 20 week appt, too far away!

I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.

Trigger: rare illness post birth

Just sharing that I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia 3 days after giving birth despite not having risk factors or preeclampsia in my pregnancy. Sharing as I had absolutely no idea about this illness.

Main things to do are check your BP everyday at least the first ten days after you give birth, and go to hospital if it's very high (over 160/110). If you get severe headache or stomach ache then also be vigilant.
