Hi folks, how is thoughtworks as an organisation?
Asking because I don't know much about it and have received recruiter's call today. Currently I am working in Deloitte. How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My research gives me a mixed review: some say it's good, some say that thoughtworks is not stable enough like big 4 or other organisations. Pls help Thoughtworks Deloitte

I tend to overwork myself and it’s really taking a toll on my mental well-being. I want to learn a lot and prove myself to my superiors so that they recognize me/see value. Now my work has a sense of dread to it. I watched my parents be workaholics growing up, so it’s all I know. I’m also goal-oriented and driven, so achieving a lot scratches that itch for me. But, it’s making me want to quit cause I’m burned out and depressed….im not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

@A1 you sound bitter
He's right though, UK consulting salaries are much lower (Big4 start grads on £31-35k) and the CoL is high.
Get ready for a 30% pay cut (assuming Deloitte reworks your comp like other firms and companies do for this exact move). But it’s okay, London is a super cheap city to live in....
@A1 you sound jealous
The UK doesn’t want you - sincere brit
Do it for the slags not the £££ m8
Very much looking forward to spending time in the U.K.. No amount of money can overpower the enriching experience I’ll have living abroad for a while. It’s a good investment and an experience I won’t regret.
@D1 you have the right mindset. Perhaps, you can find something for @A1 too
Jeez, not bitter or jealous. To clarify guys I made the move from US to U.K. and it was an amazing decision overall. The pay cut was not optimal though. But, while rent is high here (not considerably more than NYC / SF) it’s a great place to be.
To OP I’d say by all means do it, just be aware of the pay cut because a lot of folks aren’t prepared for it
Bad food, worse weather. Ugly chicks. Have fun tho
D can keep portion of your salary in US if you want to continue to contribute.
Enjoy paying shit loads of tax. But have fun. Don't regret a minute of living overseas. Sincerely, ex-expat.
C1 gets it
P2 has obviously never been in the UK
So much negativity and bitterness on here
Deloitte UK won't have a 401k plan. You'll have to do an IRA and manage it yourself. Not sure on the international tax rules though. Probably worth hiring a tax advisor
Haha.

I wouldn't say that, it's potentially a great opportunity, but it'll depend on the details. UK consulting salaries are lower than in the US and the CoL in London is approaching Manhattan silly.
