I know Liver King is out there but my roommate has been living by his “9 ancestral tenets” and it basically changed his life. Anyone else that follows something similar seen benefits? Seems like he’s rooted on well being and staying connected with the world around you. Even if you think he’s weird his YouTube video is well put together.

I switched agencies when I was 5 months pregnant. Your resume and interview will speak for itself, and you’ll have plenty of time to onboard someone prior to mat leave. Personally, I would research and compare maternity leave policies and try to make a move that is beneficial in that area - be upfront about being pregnant with HR, and ask them for the leave policy stating it will be a consideration factor for you. I definitely received an extra month and a half at the new agency than I would have at my old one.
Remember, they need you more than you need them. You have a job still. They have an opening. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this. I've started applying, good point on bringing up the leave with HR, it is a huge factor for me right now.
Similar boat don’t feel comfortable “giving it away” in early interviews. I ask HR to send me a full list of benefits (medical, transportation, 401k, etc) so hopefully the parental leave details are in there too.
It’s been my experience that it’s not volunteered unless you ask for it. However you’re comfortable doing so, but you may have to.
At a new place many don’t guarantee additional leave on top of what you get from the state. I would be very straightforward with expectations
