I’ve heard that if you get a letter from a physician and submit a medical leave request to your employer, HR handles it all — the communication with your manager, teammates, everything. You don’t have to tell them anything yourself. And they don’t need to know the details of WHY you’re on leave, just that you’re out

A1 is correct. Get your physician to fill out FMLA forms for you and he will take care of everything. Don't tell the heifer nothin'.
