If her cases have become your cases in her absence, then her problems have become your problems. If you see something in the way the case is prepared or if important elements are missing or incomplete, you have to talk to your supervisor. If for no other reason, they may have to add another associate or two to help you clean up and clear up her mess. Otherwise, you risk being the one caught with the "hot potato" in your hand when the buzzer goes off.
What kind of shortcuts?
Yikes, this is not a fun position to be in. Are you seeing shortcuts taken in all of their cases? I feel like if it's a serious problem that spans all of their workload, I would probably say something. But if you're only seeing a few instances of her taking shortcuts, I would do my best to salvage it

Depends what kind of “shortcuts” - obviously if we’re talking malpractice it’s different. If not, I would just babysit the cases til she gets back. If something comes up that needs attention, deal with it and of course talk to your supervisor as necessary about those individual issues. Leave the dots to your supervisor to connect: I personally wouldn’t want to be the person that goes to management saying “this person is systematically mishandling her cases” while that person is on maternity leave.
