Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

If you’re white like me it’s so important to realize that we were raised in a society where institutionalized racism is normalized, and we were born with privilege. You can’t choose the color of your skin, but you can choose to put ego aside and reflect on why this isn’t happening to me, and be vocal about being anti-racist.
Alas, I don't qualify.

The ads org is massive. Lots of different teams. I’m on the Brand Innovation Lab team and love it. Compensation is an obvious benefit. Lots of autonomy. Work/life balance is dictated often by yourself. I personally don’t work past 6pm.
Total. But there was a stock split this year. So now its 800 or something. I don’t remember. Also stocks are down huge so went from being valued at ~$130k of stocks to ~90k. You get most of the RSU’s in year 3 and 4 though so I have some time to either hope things improve, get promoted, increased bonuses, or find something new.
The way it’s supposed to work is that the “value” of your sign on bonus in yr 1 and 2 are gradually replaced by the stocks that vest, increasing the most in yr 3 and 4. So your total comp theoretically would stay the same and/or increase as you grow within the company.
I want to hear about agency ADs going to Amazon and liking it. I need hope after agency life lol
What’s the position? There are teams within that could differ.
The interview process is hella nutty. RSUs are good.
