I’m feeling stuck and starting to give up. I have 5 years of experience in UI/UX, but I keep working as the sole designer in the team on small projects and I lack the skills to move to bigger projects.

I have no experience with design systems and user testing and I don’t know the best practices for information architecture. I feel embarrassed to not have gained the skills after so many years.

Any advice how can I get those skills? Should I do a course, hire a mentor? Any recommendations?

knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

What monetary goal/target are you telling yourself to hit before quitting big law?

Has anyone made the transition from non-profit and small firm practice to federal government, big law, in-house? I’m a special education parent attorney at a small firm and I’ve spent my legal career in the education and juvenile areas of the law working for 2 non-profits before ending up at the firm. However, I’m just exhausted, unmotivated, and and looking for a change. At this point (6.5 yrs of practice), is that type of transition even possible or am I stuck due to the practice area?

I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row for when I quit here at the end of next month… I am taking a break to figure out what I want to do, so I will be unemployed for a time. Do I have to notify the ARDC of this change (IL licensed)? Do I have to immediately switch to inactive status or can I stay active in case I decide to keep practicing law just a few months later? Hi everyone I am relocating to Hyderabad next month. Even though I look forward to meeting new people I can’t seem to ignore the fact that I will move away from family. How to make a leap from UI/UX into product design? What skills should a PD have? With 5 YOE and I still feel like a junior. I have a good eye for visual design, but I'm a bit scared of the business strategy, analytics and testing part. Where do I start to learn those skills? Few tips to improve your visual design skills

- Learn Typography: Typography is essential because 60-70% of user interfaces are about written content displayed in a meaningful way.

- Learn Layout and Composition: You don’t need to be pixel perfect, but if you place labels 10px above inputs, you must do that consistently across your whole design.

- Learn Color: Color doesn't need to be complex. Understand how colors interact with each other and learn how color can set moods.
