I'm getting a VP of Sales role at a Top 5 Strategy Consulting company. Just graduated last year. They're going to be paying me a $230k base basically straight out of college with potential OTE of well over $500k.

Honestly a bit nervous as I haven't been in a non-simulated leadership role as of yet, so I'm coming into this and having a team to lead, lofty goals to hit, and various political and strategic obstacles to overcome from Day 1 definitely feels like a trial by fire. Any tips from vets?

After BCA + MBA I was always looking for functional roles like Pre-sales, Busiess analyst, etc. But now I'm completely in sales with 3 yrs of experience.
Also I have seen that some people have switched from Sales into BA, Pre sales, Product management, etc.
I also want to hop in BA, Pre-sales any advice for me ?

My current CTC is 4.2 lpa and even a fresher earns more than 6+ lpa.

Junior associate here, should I ask for more money if my firm is about 10-15 percent less hours but about 30 percent less pay? The gap will never be closed to the top pay scale at my firm but when I decided to come to this firm the pay difference was about 15 percent and not 30. At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). 13 yr outside Sales Experience in the B2B space, multiple roles/companies. Current quota is $15MCAD, I usually do not bad in quota but lately has shifted to rewarding medicorciy and "pooling" some numbers countrywide which i really dont like.
Current comp is $85k Base and $115 OTE with a ceiling of $150k CAD/$120k US. Feel it's too little for my experience and they are taking perks away by the day.
