Hi everyone!
Debating between an offer from 200 employee company vs Zoom (the company).
The smaller company has good benefits, great wlb and a great culture per Glassdoor reviews. But its an HR software and not easy to sell.
Compensation is similar.
Never worked in a big company like zoom before, what are the pros, and the drawbacks?

Just please please don’t come in as a know it all. The experience these people have is 1 million times more important than a degree. Learn from them and take advantage of this amazing opportunity you’ve been given.
Yeah, I'm not a very egotistical person at all so I don't think this will be too difficult for me! If anything my humor is self-deprecating aha!
Great April fools post haha
Thanks dude!
How does that even happen
I've done a simulated sales boot camp where we trained on everything from cold calls to closing tactics.
Examined concepts such as MEDDIC, straight line persuasion, seller personal, buyer personal, etc. It was pretty comprehensive. Even dealt with hypothetical conflicts of interest among sales team members and best approaches for management.
I've never heard of a grad getting an executive role straight out of the gate. Zero real world knowledge or experience. Then again, it is April Fools!
Be polite, play it by the ear, Learn from people who have been in the company for a longer period. Be ready to graft and put in hard work which will endear you to your colleagues
Nice! Are you able to share the company? I would like to explore their careers.
Yes, the company is BCG!
I just assumed it was the family business and he’s the CEOs kid. Haha
I wish it was, I'd never have to worry about money again! It's a multi billion dollar firm, if they wanna adopt me though...
I think most comments are useful, other than the cynical ones. Listen to understand and help your reps. Dont think of making decision yet. write down (critical) what you will do in the next 3 months
Got it! Thanks for the real advice!
Wow. Congratulations!
Thank you!!
I’ve never heard of such a thing. You have more reason than you know to be nervous. Sales boot camp. Etc. I’m sorry but it’s food for entry level prepping. Even if it’s a company of three you should not ever been hired as VP with zero experience. But then again to u. Oils be VP of a company of two. Who knows.
Regardless, the reason. I said you have many reasons to be concerned is the fact you were hired into that role with no experience. It illustrates very poor decision making by the hiring party and its future is highly suspect. No disrespect. And congrats on your hire but it’s fact. I did high level executive placements for years and my clients would have fired me on the spot if I had presented you. And it’s not an age thing. I was the youngest by a decade at my role with Rirz Carlton. But you said it yourself. You’ve never held a leadership role and your stating he out of school. Someone is smoking something
Fair enough, appreciate the words of advice and caution. Being that you were a younger senior leader at Ritz, is there anything you could recommend for me as someone without formal leadership experience? Or is it more of a "learn as you do" situation. Trying to avoid as many falls as I can and I recognize it's an uphill battle.
If you just graduated from college last year and they’re giving you a VP role? It means squat. I know you don’t want to hear that. Don’t care. The company won’t last. And you’ll be looking for a new job within six months, if not less.
Which part?
I think we need to be asking you the questions. Congrats.
Dad owns the company or is it your uncle?!
She is definitely giving mommy vibes, lmao. Not my biological mom though! I wish, I'd be a billionaire baby.
