I occasionally have an interview with staff I’ve not reviewed when I’m overworked and just sent a calendar invite for the interview. I’ll spend no more than a minute reviewing their cv and work on the way. This happens about 30% of the time. Luckily, if someone is very qualified and or strong, I can sense it immediately.
I don’t mind it. I’m a pretty strong presenter and it gives me a chance to show of my skills
I prefer this too because my strength is in presenting and talking my way out of almost anything.
That sucks and can be a huge waste of time. You go in all excited thinking they already like your work and they haven’t even seen it. Lame
You guys present the work in your book? A little backstory is fine but produced work should speak for itself
Yeah, who cares. I always assume they’re way too busy to spend time looking at my book... you have to take them through it
When I have a normal interview with someone prepared, it’s usually more of a discussion about thought processes, concepting work, etc. and a conversation about previous agencies, hobbies whatever, and less presenting the work. BUT there’s at least a bit of knowledge about my CV on their part.
I don’t mind presenting the work. Especially when it comes to digital or social campaigns, you need to explain it if you don’t play the case study video. Besides, gives me a chance to show off those presentation skills 💅🏻
You guys are way too serious.
