There seems to be quite a few people in here looking to join a startup.
We're a mature aerospace impact startup (in Switzerland) pre launch for a new platform to engage and empower passangers in order to accelerate sustainability in aviation. Our product website is www.adaption.me and company website is www.optimaero .ai.
If you're interested in joining us, and you think you have skills that suit our business, you could drop me a speculative application by email at hello@OptimAero.ai.

If retiring is your goal, why would you settle for a 50%-60% workload. Money?

Sounds like you can make this happen! I recall a lead Partner at my first job who did this. Everyone knew she would be online/avail Mon through Wednesday and MIA by close of play on Wednesdays night through Friday. All the best!
Yes, but the trick is to *only* work specific days. Tuesday-Thursday, etc.
Trying to reduce hours per day just doesn’t work.

One of our PPMDs actually just did 6 months of this and fully retired on 7/1 but stayed on the remainder of July to fully offboard and handover. He got on his sailboat on 8/1 and is currently sailing around the world.
All he did was manage the signed projects and brought his replacement into client meetings and then handed off after the first meeting. He provided valuable background and took meetings on his schedule.
Definitely following this
I knew a guy that was 60 or 80 pct.
He would aim to do that per week and if he worked over he'd take the time out of the end of the month.
You might also fill some of your calendar with recurring things to block your calendar out. An hour here or there for golf, gym, classes, walking the dog or just lunch with a friend. Also, no work on Fridays, no meetings after 5 or before 9...
Good for you!
congratulations. jealous of your ability to walk away and your orgn needing you. tailor it exactly as you would want to, and mentally think of it as glide path to full retirement than an abrupt shift, unless you had major plans post-retirement. In which case, you have to value your time and decide if doing those retirement plans can hold off for a couple of years or if you can balance those with a part-time role. You are in the driver’s seat foe sure.
Thank you for the encouragement.

We had a bunch of people go on a modified work week during covid.
They were supposed to be working 15-20 hours but instead ended up working 20-25 hours.
So while it wasn't what they wanted ...it was still a significant reduction in hours
I don't see a down side to giving it a shot
May I ask how old are you?
Cool. Thank you
How, if at all, does this impact your pension?
