If you are thinking of starting a law practice or growing one with little or no capital, you need to get the book, “Starting & Growing a Law Practice without Breaking the Bank.
It was written based on personal experience and research. I started my practice 11 years ago in the middle of the 2008/2009 recession with about $500 and I have grown the practice significantly over the years using affordable and available resources.
I also coach solo practitioners and small firm attorneys. https://www.amazon.com/Starting-Growing-Practice-Without-Breaking/dp/1099523303

Congrats! What are your current crypto picks?
Spouse and I have ~150k in it. Daily fluctuations are 😵💫
You’re not getting crazy gains without crazy drops too.

I’m more jealous of the other aspects of your life than I am your money.
Good for you sir, hope life continues being great for you
Wife and I are 31. Household NW of $3M. Crypto worth $1.5M, crypto cost basis of $30k. I’m here to brag too.
I mentioned my cost basis above. My portfolio is largely eth that I bought at an average of $70
How is a wedding these days only $15k 🥴
Give yourself more budget for the wedding! If it’s small, ball out on a honeymoon!!
I thought you had 28M, then realized you meant 28 male, trying to get to 2.5M by 38. 🥺
Retiring by 38 with 2.5 million is more than achievable, but I would def rebalance that crypto. You’re at a point of NW that it will be easy for you to hit your number in 10 years if you keep contributing so no reason to be so exposed
Congrats! And thank you for being honest about bragging instead of the classing “am I behind?!?” Posts
Not sure you can retire at 38 with 2.5M. Kids are expensive! You’ll see …
Nice job. I would sell to recover cost basis and recognize a nice gain then leave the rest for life as insurance, but that's just me.
Already sold some so already gtd to be in green
Good luck. Getting such a huge market increase early in your investment horizon seems like a blessing, but may end up be a curse.
As long as you don’t chase losses or panic when a crash happens you should be fine though.
Good job. Haven’t done the math yet but is 2.5m good enough for more than 1 kid?
It's good enough. Also even after I "retire" I don't expect to get 0 income
But don’t you have a mortgage?
It’s ok group manager, m1 was confused. No need to set up m1 so u can come back with this superior net worth addition and subtraction and make them feel bad ab themselves. You already know the answer to your q
I think your net worth is 0 if you take into account the 700k mortgage you have. Am I wrong?
And for those of us who have commercial stuff we had to personally guaranty, those contingent obligations also don’t affect NW. but personal financial statements usually require them to be listed but in a separate space not included in the asset/liability sections.
I’m here to brag too. I love my family, have close friends and neighbors, walk to my neighborhood gym 3 times a week, and bought BTC at $300. I sold most of it at $8,000 but kept enough to enjoy the ride.
Is this combined?
Just me.. with wife add 75k more
This makes me want to buy crypto, but I can’t imagine it’s gonna grow like the rate it has over the last 5 years….
Pretty sure that’s what people were saying five years ago 😂
2.5 to me isn’t enough to retire on—especially with kids. But that, of course, totally depends on your lifestyle. A t&e lawyer once told me, it’s not what you make, it’s what you spend. I know people who make millions a year and they basically live paycheck to paycheck.
Hey…that Fabergé egg habit will catch up with you. So will hookers and blow!

I’m 38 with 2.5m, if the market keeps going you’ll hit that number easy. Still not retired though. Probably would be worth more if I kept to crypto, but I got in so early I experienced a lot of massive drawdowns over the years. It would have been best if I lost a wallet in the basement and magically found it.
Congrats ! What are your main advices for investing and growing your portfolio ?
Says it all.
Even without the crypto you’re doing great!
