I'm leaving my current co after 2 yrs. Debating staying in industry, going back into Consulting or going to Gartner. G would be a huge base pay cut but I think I would love the work. Is the firm and authoring prestige worth it, or should I stick with the money play? I'm at a Sr Dir level currently.

My company is actually pretty damn great to work for. So many love it, but our pay is low compared to the rest of the financial sector, and so when people with great experience come knocking, HR denies them because the ask is outside the price range. So mangy managers are pushing back but damn. Why shoot yourself in the foot like that?

I got a decent deal on a small 1 bed in a luxury building (hell’s kitc). Should I do a 12 month lease or 24m?

Got the rent negotiated to under 3k + free amenities for a year (gym, pool, etc.). I’m afraid rent will atleast go back to the original price (+5%) and then some. The building has some sort of rent control but that’s predicted to go away in less than 1 year as per the lease. The legal rent limit is way higher.

Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title.
