Hi Guyz,
Any one from IBM ?
I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.
Can any one please tell me if its correct or just an excuse not to give me offer. If its true, when will this freeze be removed?

You can ask what do day to day responsibilities look like for the role you are interviewing for? Also asking about he work culture helps. The transition seems intimidating but you may find yourself with a lighter workload since bigger companies have a bigger budget to pay for various roles versus a small company where you may end up wearing multiple hats.
I agree. You can def ask questions to see if it is sometihiing you can take on. But from your post, it sounds like you are more than capable.
It might depend on what tasks you tend to struggle with. I can’t get myself to do the menial stuff until the very last minute, but the good thing about most consulting positions is that you have fewer menial tasks comparatively. You’ll have to submit timesheets and expenses, but generally less copy/pasting and other operational things. I tend to do worse on staff aug projects than on the fast paced ones.
Thanks!!! That’s helpful. I think I have imposter syndrome. I still think of myself as this hot mess from school days. I have spent my whole adult life trying to get my sh*t together but deep down, I worry my true colors will betray me. Im trying to remind myself I am 40 now and no longer that kid with a messy backpack 🤪 but you know, I worry 😬🥴
I think working for a big company has its pros and cons. One thing that you aren't considering is that bigger companies have larger resource. This resources, help employees "achieve" more. I don't think you should be worry because you already have the experience. It might take you some extra time to adapt to your new environment but I think you should be fine.

You might find the works easier in a big firm than it was in the small one. But there is more bureaucracy, maybe more meetings, and more people - which means more politics IMO. So focus on getting to know people and remembering (writing down) names/roles.
