The best thing you can do, would be to take courses on Udemy or Coursera, those are likely the most cost effective methods to validate that you want to make the jump. You could also look into boot camps but those can be more costly and the results can be mixed. At your current company see if you can start doing more digital focused designs and then see about testing with a few users and then gradually transition over to UX
As a side note, UX Design is only about 20%-30% design, the rest is user research, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder negotiation.
UX design does pay well, but a lot of it online influencers, ads and boot camps oversell the salary. I started off making 57k a year at my first UX job in a low cost of living city. As you get more experience you can get paid more, but unless you live in NYC or California don’t expect a 6 figure salary
