I’m new to Dubai, working at a top agency, often 12–16 hours a day, including weekends. I have a family, and it’s wearing me down as I barely see them.

I’m not sure HR knows how extreme the hours are, and I’m afraid to speak up. But I’ve heard this goes against UAE labor laws. Friends at other agencies say it’s the same, so it seems widespread.

What can I do? I appreciate any help as I’m not able to see by myself a potential solution.

Would it be too much of a reach to try to go for a financial analyst position if my only experience is in compliance tax?

I'm reading this book on boundaries. In the work section it says I should tell my boss that I can't work after 5 PM. Knowing that advertising work commonly goes past 5 PM...would my job be in danger if I said that?
