Sometimes rules will change to benefit the profession that will feel unfair to you. Welcome to adulthood.
You still need 150 hours for the license, it’s just a change to lower the amount needed to sit for the exam. Relax
Having the 150 credits will increase state portability. Legislation at the state level is fickle. Ohio has had two additional CPA pathways that don’t require 150 credit hours since 1959 and 2000, respectively. Also, presumably the education was beneficial to you beyond simply giving you access to a job opportunity. One would hope.
Did you get it in the form of a masters degree or just an extended bachelors degree? I have my masters and while it’s not like a real mba it still feels nice to have it
Well, one semester away means you’re only halfway there. I would think you’d be happy with the change.
Super annoying. I'm sorry! I mean, at least it means you don't have to do the next semester's worth of work and you were able to stop halfway. Think of all the people who already finished it. Just a little silver lining to think about!
Never a good feeling when something you are working hard towards gets changed. I would disagree that all that hard work was for nothing though. Things change and rarely ever is a good time for it. Just focus on what you have accomplished and you did what you had to at the time.
No. I believe that time was for you. You should be proud of yourself
Since college in no way prepares you for the real working word, I completely agree with you. Having to do more education and pay for it, just means you got screwed. Accounting is a joke anyways. No future in it unless you want to trade your 20's and 30's away so you can make decent money in your 40's. People currently in their 40's should not be allowed to comment on here since there experience is no longer relevant. The profession has changed, there is no reward for hard work anymore.
Give me a break! The industry does and always has paid very well. You kids today are spoiled/entitled bunch who want the world handed to them.
Ok. Fair enough but better to know now then a semester later!
