Hi Fishes,
My current DOJ at TCS is 9th May 2022. But, currently my HR is waiting from account team to get approval on my salary revision. Also, she says she needs business confirmation to map me in alternate project. So, should I join on 9th May if she doesn’t come to me with revised offer? Or can I skip joining on 9th May if she has still not got the account team’s approval? Will the job still remain if in this case I don’t join on 9th May? HR is very slow and doesn’t reply.Tata Consultancy

It sounds like you're burnt out and looking for escape.
I think there is a 4th option: find a time relax. Working weekdays and weekends are rough. When do you have you time?
None of your options are you considering how to be more efficient at making money. They are all about how to enjoy making money. But if you were more efficient, ie paid more to work less, then you would have lots of time to enjoy that don't involve work.
1: Client side
Pros: My client is great - awesome team, meaty problems, great collaboration, all parties are interested. Comp/benefits would be a definite bump, good industry contacts and opportunities for growth.
Cons: I’m burnt out on laptop life. I love what I do but I’m feeling like no matter how good it is, I need a change and more flexibility than a standard 9-5 and the natural next step in my career. I’m feeling stagnant and I want to take some risks.
2: baby start up
Pros: The core team is great, I’ve had fun weekend working with them, and if it can launch and hit the market right it’ll be crazy good. Biggest potential to set my own cadence and priorities, and do some really cool innovative work.
Cons: It’s not about babies, but it’s still barely more than a gleam in the founders eye. Even if we get funding, it also could go really sideways. Also the biggest risk that I lose all boundaries between work and life, which is something I really want.
3: try a 3rd party
Pros and cons vary widely, but the one I’m wrestling with the most is Salesforce because it’s the most appealing - everything I’ve heard is pretty good culture, good WLB. Anyone know or heard anything contradictory?
