I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer.
