I’m starting preliminary interviews for a position as Government & Public Sector - Finance Analyst at EY in the San Antonio Office.

Can anyone give insight into the hours, compensation, skills. I want to get an overall idea of the pros and cons of this job and what a typical work week in terms of hours looks like.

I would be relocating to San Antonio so I would like to have time to explore the city but am worried that work life balance may become an issue (being that it is a consulting role)

Any one attended an interview with chennai based company IMMO ? Any idea how's the company ?

Folks, based on your experience, what are the pros and cons of making an internal transfer within your firm and/or applying for a role at another firm when making a move to the west?

Throwing this out there. My company was recently acquired and I was laid off yesterday. I’m currently 6m pregnant so looking for a company that isn’t going to have a problem with my giving birth in 3m (looking for a miracle). 13 YOE in Marketing (Brand, Digital, Product, Ops). You name it, I’ve probably done it. Team management exp but not required in next role. Just looking for 100% remote, flexibility, and company that puts families first and won’t give me a hard time about doctor appts 🙏🏻

Considering that cost of living has gone up significantly here, doesn't the market need some adjustment?

Is salary just a function of years of seniority?

I do understand the case of better WLB and social benefits than the US. Hence not a direct comparison.

I joined EY in January. Had no work all of January, but was busy for February and some of March. I have been unassigned for about 4 weeks now, sending availability emails to all of the service lines we are allowed to reach out to for work. Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
